I started my studies in Germany but knew that I also wanted to study abroad. Since a brief high school exchange, I wanted to experience the US college life. I did my research (not too easy in the late nineties) and applied to three schools. The University of South Florida offered me a graduate assistantship to study the Master that I wanted. This meant that I could cover most of my costs in the US by working for the international affairs department of the university. I worked with international students and professors on a daily basis, helping them with their integration into the US. At the same time, I got hooked on the college varsity teams, watched Football games in the Tampa Bay Bucs Stadium, cheered for the basketball team in the Sun Dome and stood in the stands at the soccer field screaming “Go Bulls!”.

I went back to Germany after finishing my degree in 2002 and wanted to stay connected to college sports. I used the new, faster internet to build the first college sports recruiting service in Europe. Since then, I’ve helped thousands of student-athletes pursue their dreams in the US. I watched them become professional athletes, cancer researchers and TV artists. I saw them marry their team-mates or make a fortune on Wall Street. It still motivates me every day to see the impact that the college sports experience can have on young lives.

I played college tennis for four unforgettable years and then spent three more as an assistant coach at the collegiate level. Those years were truly the best experience of my life — filled with incredible team achievements, lifelong friendships, and countless lessons that shaped who I am today. Driven by the desire to help others experience the same life-changing journey, I have had the privilege to play my part in building a college placement agency dedicated to guiding young athletes toward their own college sports dreams. Now, more than 15 years later, the passion for college sports still burns brightly within me. Helping student-athletes find their path and watching them grow on and off the court continues to be an incredibly rewarding mission.

My college adventure began in January 1998, when I left Germany to pursue my career as a student-athlete at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia — later renamed Armstrong State University and now known as Georgia Southern University.

About seven years later, after a successful collegiate tennis career, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in IT, followed by a master’s degree in Computer Science.

During those transformative years, I was not only a student-athlete, but also a member of the student government, completed several internships, taught at the university, and actively participated in numerous campus activities — a truly life-changing experience.

After returning to Germany, I founded uniexperts to help other young international athletes and students experience the same unique journey I had. A few thousand athletes later, in 2022, uniexperts became part of Keystone Sports, where I now serve as Head of Business Development for Germany, Switzerland, and Austria — and the adventure continues.
